Car. Approximately 6 hrs from Stockholm or 1 hr from Östersund, Sweden or 2.5 hrs from Trondheim, Norway.
Train. Travel from Stockholm via SJ and other major cities to Åre. The train stops in the middle of town, 12 minute taxi to Copperhill Mountain Lodge.
Plane to Östersund airport, Sweden (85 km from Åre). Book flights on-line with SAS or Bra, both land in Östersund from Stockholm. It is a 60 min taxi ride to Åre (train options exist, but are not timed well with plane landings, which makes the taxi a more expensive but reliable option - tryFlyGTransfers for prebookable airport transfers from Ostersund). Other option is car rental from Östersund airport. (Note direct flights to Östersund from London, Copenhagen, and Amsterdam is only during the late winter).
Plane to Trondheim airport, Norway (135 km from Åre). Book flights on-line with SAS or Norwegian from Oslo, Copenhagen, Amsterdam, etc. It is a 120 min drive to Åre or a 2.5 hr train with one stop, see Norrtag. Try car rental from Trondheim airport. Try also FlyGTransfers for prebookable airport transfers from Ostersund and Trondheim.
